KINGMAN — LaVera Corey, 82, rural Kingman, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 in Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Crawfordsville. She was born Jan. 19, 1924 in Mellott, the daughter of Philip and Muriel (Remster) Parkinson. She married Robert L. “Bob” Corey May 21, 1944. He preceded in death Aug. 24, 1990. She was a graduate of Richland Township High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church near Mellott. Survivors include: two sons, Robert L. “Butch” (Tommilou) Corey, Veedersburg and Ronald William “Bill” (Janis) Corey, Greenwood; a sister, Harriett Schwen, Veedersburg; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was also preceded a great-granddaughter, a great-grandson, four brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Rev. Rod Overpeck officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Rockfield Cemetery Association. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home. – jlr
